Shortly before Majestic LanDaLan 3, Andrey Xoma Mironenko joined Nemiga as an interim coach, replacing boX while he took a break. At the event, MN spoke with him about the new challenge, the circumstances behind Astrum’s breakup, the qualities of the current Nemiga roster, and the main goal of his coaching career.

You recently became Nemiga’s coach. How did that happen?

I spent a long time waiting for different offers and held talks with several clubs.
Then a good offer came from Nemiga. I decided that I did not want to sit around doing nothing until the end of the season, and I wanted to return to the process.
It is a new challenge for me. We will see what happens in the near future.

How did the Astrum core end up joining Sangal while you were left without a team?

There were certain difficulties with keeping the organization alive and operating. A decision therefore had to be made quickly to sell either the core, individual players, or the players together with the coach.
We spoke with many different organizations, but Sangal were only interested in the core. They already have a good coach in Jumpy, who previously worked with fnatic.
They did not want to completely rebuild their structure around a Russian lineup and preferred to keep their own coach.
It was the best offer available because it preserved the VRS points and allowed the players to continue competing.

Am I right in understanding that boX is expected to return to Nemiga after some time?

I am not sure yet. You will be able to follow how the situation develops later.
For now, I cannot say anything about my future with the team.
