FaZe lost 1–2 to Aurora in the opening round of the Esports World Cup 2025 playoffs and were eliminated from the tournament. On the deciding map, Overpass, the team failed to win a single round on the T side. After the match, MN spoke with Håvard rain Nygaard about the reasons behind the defeat, s1mple’s current form, their Major run together, and the most important decisions of his career.

What went wrong on the third map?

I do not know. We had a pretty okay CT side, but on the T side we did not get a single round.
We simply got outplayed. It felt as though they were reading us very well: most of the time when we were executing, they already had three or four players there.
So it was a rough T side.

Your former teammate s1mple recently joined BC.Game. What can you say about his performances at a lower level?

He has been playing really well and putting up almost the same numbers he had before.
It is nice to see him grinding his way back.
Hopefully, we will get to see him at tier one again soon.

What do you think went wrong during the period when s1mple played with FaZe?

It is hard to say exactly what went wrong.
We did not have that much time to prepare. Maybe we would have been better with more time.
But considering the circumstances, I think what we achieved at the Major was pretty good.
We lost to The MongolZ, who were a very strong team. I think we still had a respectable result with him.

If you had the chance to reunite with one of your former teammates, who would you choose?
