MOUZ lost 1–2 to Falcons in the IEM Chengdu 2025 third-place decider and finished the tournament in fourth place. After the match, kayo spoke with Jimi Jimpphat Salo about the team’s run of playoff appearances, their main goal for the end of the season, the relationships within the roster, his impressions of Chinese cuisine, and his ranking of the year’s best players.

You and EmiliaQAQ have matching-style nicknames on Steam. How did that happen?

We were simply playing some practice games, and at one point he started calling me JimiQAQ. I called him Emipphat in return, and then he changed his Steam name.
There is no crazy story behind it. It was just a funny coincidence and a shared joke.
We later met in Chengdu and spoke for a little while. He is a really funny guy, and I like him a lot. I think it is simply one big joke between us.

MOUZ have reached the playoffs for the twelfth time this year. How have you managed to maintain that level of consistency?

For a long time, we have consistently been a very strong team, especially during group stages.
At almost every tournament, we manage to get close to the playoffs or qualify for them outright.
That consistency comes from the work we put in. Our baseline as a team is extremely high.
At the same time, we have not won a tier-one trophy this year. That has to be our next step at the remaining events of the season.

What would be the ideal result to end the season with?

The ideal result would obviously be to win the Major.
We have not won a tier-one trophy this year, and that is a little disappointing because we keep getting extremely close. We have reached finals and regularly made the playoffs.
