ARCRED reached the grand final of WINLINE MPKBK CIS LAN Season 5. We spoke with Get_Jeka about the upcoming title decider against Virtus.pro.
Hi! First of all, congratulations on reaching the grand final. I imagine this is a significant achievement for you. What are your overall impressions of the tournament and of St. Petersburg?
This is not our first time in St. Petersburg. We are almost locals here—we even held a bootcamp in the city. So everything feels more or less like home. We are playing our own game at the tournament and deservedly made it to the final.
— Get_Jeka
You may not remember this, but PARI White Night LAN was held here four years ago. Back then, you lost 1–2 to INDE IRAE in the semifinal.
Now, four years later, you have finally reached a final in St. Petersburg. Raijin is also playing alongside you, and he lost that previous final while representing K23.
That makes this a rather interesting and symbolic occasion. Does it make winning the upcoming final even more important to you?
Yes, there is something to that. Of course, you want to win every final, but this tournament is also taking place in St. Petersburg. On top of that, we lost the final of the previous LANdaLAN in Moscow as well.
— Get_Jeka
So I would like to finally win at least one of Morkovka’s tournaments.
Am I right in thinking that your family is here at the tournament?
Yes, my mother came.
— Get_Jeka
Does that give you extra motivation to perform well and win?
Yes, more or less.
— Get_Jeka
Who would you like to face in the grand final? K27 currently lead 1–0, or would you still prefer to play Virtus.pro?
Virtus.pro. They beat us at the previous tournament, so I would like to play them again.
— Get_Jeka
You have changed several players in the fifth position over the past year. Chill and redzed both played for the team, and now you have returned to synyx. What led to so many changes, and why did you ultimately decide to bring synyx back?
shg was drafted into the army. After that, we tried to find another player and experimented with different lineups. But we could not find a player at the level we needed. Meanwhile, synyx improved significantly over the course of the year, both mentally and in Counter-Strike.
— Get_Jeka
So we decided to bring him back into the team.
By the way, shg recently returned from military service. Have you spoken with him since he came back?
Yes, of course.
— Get_Jeka
Are there any plans for him to return to the lineup? After all, you already have a core roster that you are currently playing with. How is he doing after the army?
He is doing fine. He came back, spent some time in St. Petersburg and Moscow, and then returned to Ufa. Now shg will start practicing, and we will try to help him regain his form.
— Get_Jeka
One last question. Cache was recently added to CS2. Have you played it yet? What do you think of the map, and do you expect it to enter the Active Duty map pool after the Cologne Major?
We played one FACEIT match on it and beat fANDER. Overall, it is a good map. I think it will suit us.
— Get_Jeka
It is somewhat similar to Anubis—it is more aim-heavy. We like maps where you can take more fights and get into frequent engagements.
So Cache should suit us.
