BetBoom arrived at Majestic LanDaLan 3 in the middle of the race for VRS points and an invitation to the upcoming Major. After one of the team’s victories, MN spoke with captain Kirill Boombl4 Mikhailov about the lack of LAN appearances, visa restrictions, missing the Major, the flaws of the ranking system, and criticism directed at experienced players. Kirill also answered several personal questions about his career, purchases, and travel.

Congratulations on the win! This has not been the best year for you in terms of LAN appearances. Do you miss the period when you were in a new country and playing a new tournament almost every week?

Of course I miss LAN tournaments. Together with the team, I am trying to do everything possible to start playing more of them again.
I am not sure what else I can add.

Why do BetBoom not register for European LAN events as actively as teams such as Liquid or NIP?

We have visa problems. They are not that easy to obtain.
DraculaN in Romania, Birch Cup in Poland, Fragadelphia in the United States, and Riga Cup were all important VRS events announced around a week in advance.
It is difficult for Russian players to obtain visas on such short notice, and not everyone already has one. That is the only reason we are not playing at those events.

You are still actively competing, but you will miss another Major. Does that affect how you view yourself?

This will not be the first Major I have missed. The first one was in Winstrike, when we were eliminated from the qualifier with a 1–3 record.
Missing a Major is always disappointing. But the most important thing is the state of the team: whether it is progressing and moving forward.
